Online Bingo Hot In The UK!

Bingo has suffered online in the USA with the implementation of the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act, criminalizing hundreds of the thousands of American bingo players who enjoy a game online. There is little that can be done about this until the law is changed, but this bingo prohibition is in stark contrast to the popularity of the game in the UK. British online bingo players are currently spoilt for choice, and not only is it ok to play the game online for UK residents, at the moment it's one of the more popular online pursuits for games players.

If anything, the game in the UK is continuing to grow in popularity, fuelled by TV and press adverts which became legal to air in September 2007. Online bingo companies lost no time in advertising their sites and gaining the attention of new and old players alike. Special offers like £5 free at Foxy Bingo or £10 free at Gala Bingo quickly brought the players in. In part, the presence of the game on the UK high street has helped to spread the word of bingo in the UK, with the public happy to accept online bingo thanks to their familiarity with the big brands.

And this popularity is not set to stop. Already there are over 200 online bingo sites focused directly at UK players. Barely an ad break goes by without some sort of bingo advert, and there are also a number of UK TV shows that are sponsored by bingo sites. On the satellite channels there is a dedicated bingo channel and a range of bingo program such as Big Box Bingo. Given the growth in the game, the popularity and presence, the game is also attracting a much younger audience and at the rate it's going will be the leading pastime in the UK before too long. It's a shame our government has implemented the UIGEA, as bingo could be enjoying a similar growth here.

Is It Hot In Here Or Did I Just Bingo?

Bingo is getting more and more interesting these days and it’s all thanks to the new game show, “National Bingo Night”. Since May 18th National Bingo Night has been bringing us an exciting new thing to do on Friday nights; before you go out or before you go to bed, depending on your lifestyle.

ABC has invited viewers to come to their web site the week before and during the show to print bingo cards in order to play along from home. This has ABC’s web-servers pretty hot on Friday nights; many people have had problems printing the cards during the show because of the extremely high demand at that time.  People love it when Ed Sanders says, “Log onto ABC.com now to print your free bingo cards”, and they do. Millions of cards have been printed thus so-far.  At home viewers have until 6pm, the Monday following game night to redeem there winning cards.  BingoNightNumbers.com, a fan site, publishes all of the winning numbers drawn online for viewers who either miss the show or didn't catch a number.

Now, as if things weren’t hot enough with Yesenia Adame calling the bingo ball numbers and Ed Sanders’ British charm. Last Friday night National Bingo Night brought in Ewa Mataya Laurance; the “Striking Viking” to shoot pool as part of one of the games played. Ewa is one of the most recognized players in the history of pool. She has won every major billiard title and has been in or on the cover of many different magazines. Ewa is also a former model who has been in many commercials and on an array of TV shows. Oh and yes, she is a very attractive woman.

ABC seems to be doing a good job with this new game show. Not only is it an intense game for the, at home, player but it is an entertaining and “easy on the eyes” hour of television. Without getting to complicated or taboo for grandmas taste, National Bingo Night, is pulling just the right stings to draw in all of the demographics.

Gather the kids, go pick up grandma from her home and get ready for some good 'ole family bonding over a nicely televised game of Bingo.  Grandma will love the fact that she's playing Bingo, for free, from home for prizes.   Mom will love that the family is coming together for the night, or an hour at least.  And the kids, depending on age, will either be fascinated by the giant clear structure filled with bouncing colored balls or the good looks and charm of Ed Sanders, the Bingo Night host and former carpenter on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,”

OK, maybe you don't want the kids to play because you think its gambling.  Well as far as I'm concerned  you aren't gambling because there is nothing at stake.  So print off those bingo cards and stamp away.  But remember, you must be 18 years old to claim you prize.
